The University of Liège’s Clinique Vétérinaire Universitaire, which is unique in French-speaking Belgium, began operations in its new building. It is an €18 million investment dedicated to providing quality healthcare for pets and facilities for their owners. The essential equipment provided for the clinical training of veterinary students is remarkable.
The premises have a total surface area of 5,670 m2. They cover three floors and are fully integrated in the natural environment and the surrounding buildings of the faculty of veterinary medicine. The new Clinique Vétérinaire Universitaire provides state-of-the-art infrastructure fully dedicated to caring for pets, including exotic pets.
The new Clinique Vétérinaire Universitaire meets all requirements in terms of energy performance, with a passive, or very low energy, building depending on the floor.
The roof is equipped with 200 m2 of photovoltaic panels. The clinic’s former premises will be reallocated to new offices, laboratories, and research installations as well as to rooms for students to do practical work and preclinical exercises.
